Deposit: We require half the amount of your stay rounded down to the nearest hundred. Example: Cabin is $1290, deposit is $600. Deposits are due within 7 business days of making the reservation. While we prefer cash or checks, we accept all major credit cards and Venmo. A 3.7% fee will be added to payments made via credit card or for goods/services on Venmo. Make checks payable to B&H Sams Inc or Campfire Bay Resort.
Cancellation policy: If we are able to rebook your cabin, which we'll make every effort to do, you'll get your deposit back minus a $75 cancellation fee. If we can not rebook it, regardless of when you cancel, you will not receive your deposit back.
Check-in/Check-out: Check in is anytime between 3pm and dark, and check-out is anytime before 10:00am at the Campfire Bay Resort main office as that is where the Sams live and work. You will then leave your car in the lodge parking lot and be transported by boat or pontoon to the island if you do not have your own boat (or need more room for all your stuff). If you are traveling in separate vehicles, please know that only one trip to the island at check in and one trip back at check out is complimentary. Each additional trip is $20/trip. There is a boat slip at the resort for your use only when you want to come ashore and visit the resort or hop in your car to go somewhere else.
Pets: Are allowed on a case by case basis and charged a $27 pet fee (per pet per entire stay). You must sign a pet waiver authorizing Sams Island to charge credit card up to $100 (per pet) for any damages/excessive cleaning. If a credit card is not used, then you must put down a $100 damage deposit in addition to the normal deposit. This deposit will be returned after departure and inspection that no damage was done or excessive cleaning needed and all animal waste was cleaned up.
Smoking: Not allowed inside the cabin
Guests: All people over the base rate of 6 people will be charged an extra person fee. If just coming to visit you at the island, it's $10/person for a full 8hr day, $5/half day, free if under 2 hours. If staying over night, it's $27/person per day.
Boats: If you have your own boat, the public access is just a 2 minute boat ride from the island. The dock is big enough for two sized boats--we dock the 24ft pontoon there all the time. If you do not have your own boat and wish to rent a motorized one, you can do that from Campfire Bay Resort or Sweetwater Resort, both rent to the public.
Other information: We provide all bedding, toilet paper, all kitchen ware (pots, pans, dishes, silverware, utensils, salt and pepper, matches, garbage bags, dish soap, coffee filters, coffee maker, toaster, blender, microwave, crock pot, charcoal grill, and we have less-utilized items available to borrow (like coffee grinders, etc) at the lodge where you check in. We do not provide towels, washcloths, napkins, or paper towels. If you forget something, however, check with us before going out and buying it, we may have it to borrow, rent, or purchase.
